Cato Networks will be participating in Cloud Expo Europe and DevOps Live, set to take place on 6-7 March at the ExCel London.

This event is one of the UK’s most significant gatherings for cybersecurity and technology professionals.

AI in Cybersecurity: Navigating Opportunities and Risks

Senior Director of Security Strategy, Etay Maor, will deliver a keynote at Cloud Expo Europe on the first day, focusing on the critical topic of AI in cybersecurity.

Maor’s presentation aims to shed light on AI’s dual role in enhancing security defenses and its potential misuse by cyberattackers. This discussion is timely, especially following the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) recent assessment of AI’s impact on future cyber threats.

“A wave of AI-based attacks are not imminent, despite the hype surrounding technologies like ChatGPT,” Maor elaborates, aiming to demystify the current and potential uses of AI in cybersecurity.

“Limitations such as ‘hallucinations’ and model constraints, along with the maturity level of large language models (LLMs), render this threat minimal for now,” added Maor.

His talk will explore defensive AI strategies, the application of AI beyond conversational agents like ChatGPT, and the vulnerabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs).

“We anticipate the use of LLMs to enhance specific elements of attacks, like facilitating email creation or aiding social engineering through profile and document generation. While AI won’t replace human intelligence, those who are able to leverage AI will surpass those who don’t,” said Maor.

Streamlining Cloud Networking and Security

On the following day at DevOps Live, Director of Product Marketing, Greg Duffy, will appear at the DevSecOps Theatre to discuss the integration of networking and security in the cloud through Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).

Duffy will highlight the importance of collaboration between network and security teams and offer insights into effective SASE strategy and vendor selection.

“SASE is the cornerstone for modern digital business architecture,” Duffy states, emphasising the strategic value of SASE in facilitating the convergence of networking and security teams.

His session will provide practical advice on leveraging SASE for cloud networking and security, and tips for selecting the right SASE platform.
