PENSACOLA, Fla. — Major takedowns in the war against online criminals.

The U.S. Department of Justice arrested a Chinese national who they say hijacked hundreds of thousands of computers to steal billions of dollars.

A day later, we learned of the international effort to shut down hundreds of domains used to install malware on individual computers.

That left us with some questions — how can we tell which computers are compromised and are we safer today after these actions?

To help break it down, Connar McCasland, an instructor at the University of West Florida’s Center for Cybersecurity, joined WEAR News on Tuesday:
