Signed by the US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, and British Technology Minister Michelle Donelan, this agreement is a follow-up to a commitment made to the AI Safety Summit last November.

Through this collaboration, the US and UK AI Security Institutes will cooperate and partner in research, safety evaluation, and guidance for AI safety.

The two countries also intend to take advantage of a collection of collective expertise by exploring inter-institutional personnel exchanges.

“AI is a technology that determines our generation. This partnership will accelerate the work of our two Institutions in overcoming the entire risk spectrum, both for national security and the wider community,” said US Trade Minister Gina Raimondo in an official broadcast.

British Foreign Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, Michelle Donelan also stated that this agreement saw Britain and the US’s efforts to address technological challenges that determine future generations.

We always emphasize that ensuring safe AI development is a shared global issue. Only by working together can we overcome the risks of technology directly and take advantage of its great potential to help all of us live an easier and healthier life,” he said.
