Al-Hasakah province: The Internal Security Forces “Asayish” arrested more than 45 individuals for “belonging to ISIS” and others accused for “involving in sabotage activities and collaborating with Turkey” in a security operation in the region spanning between Al-Shaddadi,  Markadah and southern Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the road between Al-Shaddadi and Al-Hasakah was closed in the early hours in the morning due to the deployment of members of the Internal Security Forces in the region to pursue ISIS cells. Security forces also confiscated quantities of weapons and ammunition during the campaign.

It is worth noting that International Coalition Forces participate in a joint operations room to monitor the campaign, provide information and share coordinates regarding the locations of ISIS cells and preparing helicopters for intervention if necessary.

This comes as a part of the joint security operations by the International Coalition and SDF in different areas in north-east Syria to prosecute ISIS affiliates.

On March 1, SOHR sources reported that International Coalition Forces carried out an airdrop, with the participation of Syrian Democratic Forces, in the early hours of Friday morning in Al-Hariji town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after besieging the region. During the security operation, nine people were arrested for “belonging to ISIS cells,” and their whereabouts remains unknown.
