According to agenda minutes, the Commission has put forth a resolution to authorize Mayor Lester Miller to establish an agreement with 1 Accord Technologies for the purchase and implementation of eight Cisco Catalyst 9300 systems for enhanced internet security and stability in the amount of $320,955.04.

This is the second action the commission has taken since the cyber attack. On June 18, the commission authorized Mayor Miller to execute a renewable professional services agreement with Kroll Associates, Inc. for $132,400 per year, so that the county can have access to strong cybersecurity services.

The cybersecurity attack affected the county’s email system, phones, and access to services such as online court system payments, park reservations, vehicle tag and title registration, property tax and garbage bill payments, all of which were offline for several days to weeks.

This second resolution is likely to pass during Tuesday’s commission meeting.
