MANILA, Philippines — The planned e-marketplace for government procurement will feature security measures against hacking, said Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Procurement Service Executive Director Dennis Santiago on Tuesday.
The government is set to launch a pilot e-marketplace for procurement in July. However, the move comes amidst several hacking attacks against government websites.

Santiago said there are Electronic Payments Network (EPN) tools, such as Captcha to detect if the user is a robot or a human.
The DBM executive admitted that hacking attempts were a regular occurrence in all government processes.
“There have been attempts, but PS-DBM’s IT (information technology) has been thoroughly securing the system in order to ensure that the data as well as other relevant information is protected,” Budget Undersecretary Goddes Hope Libiran told INQUIRER.net in a message.
