A satellite communications provider has acquired a cyber security specialist to improve onboard IT and operational technology support
Marlink Group has acquired Croatia-headquartered Diverto, which provides security solutions for information and operational technology (IT and OT), to strengthen its security portfolio as the maritime industry is increasingly focusing on cyber resilience.
Diverto helps its own clients protect infrastructure in the public and private sector. Its portfolio covers penetration testing, security audits, risk management, regulatory compliance and other cyber-security services.
It employs more than 50 security professionals with more than 150 security certifications, and operates a security operations centre (SOC) for IT and OT offering incident management and security breach forensics.
Marlink’s portfolio of cyber-security solutions includes combined SOC-managed services for remote operations and providing protection at all network and end-user levels using firewalls, antivirus and unified threat management.
“Demand for expertise and resources to meet the increasing needs in both IT and OT security is growing fast and this acquisition is an important step in strengthening our capabilities and expanding our reach in cyber security,” said Marlink director for digital Nicolas Furgé.
“The integration of Diverto will enable Marlink to capture growing market opportunities in IT and OT security and to build together a cyber-security powerhouse for remote operations and critical infrastructure.”
