The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has Commended the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria(FRCN), for their consistency and support for the military in its counterterrorism and other security operations in the country.
Gen. Musa, made this known when he received received the Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Dr Mohammed Bulama and Managenent team in his office at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
He said that the media is critical to changing wrong narratives.
The CDS, while assuring that the Armed Forces of Nigeria ( AFN) is working towards a better Nigeria, expressed the readiness the military to work with the media to raid the nation of criminalities.
General Musa, who Commended the FRCN for their consistency despite all odds, said his leadership philosophy is people centric, just as he noted that it will be very difficult for the AFN to function without the cooperation of the general public. He further said the military will continue to employ professionalism, decorum and rule of law in defending democracy.
Earlier in his remarks, the DG FRCN, Dr Bulama, who appreciated the role played by the military in sustaining democracy in Nigeria, and patriotism to keep Nigeria one, assured the CDS, of the commitment of the FRCN, to partner with the military in the areas of it’s Non- kinetic approach to warfare and pledged their support to the AFN in its fight against insurgency in the country.
Dr Bulama also revealed their readiness to provide platforms for the non-kinetic approach and to counter radical ideologies and extremism in the country.
