President Museveni chairs high command meeting to review security operations – New Vision

President Yoweri Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF on Wednesday chaired the High Command meeting at State House Entebbe.

The engagement was “to review the security situation in the country and the operations of the UPDF in the region,” states a release from the Presidential Press Unit (PPU).

Senior military officers comprising the top UPDF leadership, attended the meeting.

The team of senior commanders led by Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, included: Deputy CDF Lt. Gen. Sam Okiding, Commander Land Forces Lt. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga, Reserve Force Commander Lt. Gen. Otema Awany, Commander Air Force Lt. Gen. Charles Okidi, and SFC Commander Maj. Gen. David Mugisha, among other service commanders and chiefs.

Details of the engagement were not readily released to the media.

A release from PPU indicates that a team from the Ministry of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs, attended the meeting.

Defence Minister Jacob Oboth Oboth, State Ministers, Huda Oleru and Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke, and Permanent Secretary  Rosette Byengoma attended the meeting.
