Dog rescued from well after another dog alerts security guard – KRON4

(KRON) — In a scene right out of a “Lassie” movie, two dogs in the East Bay are now reunited after one was trapped in a well for six hours. A female dog named Merida fell into a well and struggled for hours to get out.

She only got out because of her best friend, Wellington, the other dog in this picture.

Wellington refused to leave Merida’s side. He kept calling for help until a nearby security guard came over to see what was going on. The security guard called Oakland Animal Services.

Help arrived and Merida was brought out safely. Now they’re both back together — two happy best friends sticking by each other’s side.
